Correct. The etymology of the name of this town is Slavonic. "Gorizia" in Italian, "Gorica" in Slovenian and "Görz" in German, at the time of Austro-Hungarian Empire. Since 1945 this town is divided between 2 States. Funny, that also in Germany since 1945 there is a town with a name sounding similiar divided between 2 States too. It is "Görlitz" (GDR and after Germany) / "Zgorzelec" (Poland).
The Slovene word gorica means 'little hill'.
